Trying for my PhD in 2019

Gail of Quilting Gail has a great motivational endeavor.  She's challenging people to work on their PhD, or Projects Half Done.  I participated in 2018 and am pleased to say I was successful!  I'm playing for another year.  You can get info here, but I'll hit the highlights:
  • Make a lit of all your UFOs at the beginning of the year and finish at least half.
  • Complete all projects started in 2018
PHD in 2019: Quilting UFOs and Finishing New Projects

I have two rules/exceptions that I set for myself:
  • I always have a few hand sewing projects started for when I travel or can't use my machine.  The purpose of those is to have them to work on, so I don't worry about finishing them on a timeline.  Once the handwork is completed, they go on the list to be completed.
  • Anything started in December 2019 doesn't count against the "must finish in 2019" rule.  This is because due to my work schedule, I have significant time off in December.
 Here's my list:

  1. That's quite a list! Are all those in progress or are some just 'want to make'? I need to do a baby quilt this year for a boy due in May. The only other thing on my list is to finish a mystery design.

  2. That is quite the list for the year but I have complete faith you will have it whittled down in no time. I'll be sewing along working on my PhD too. We can cheer each other on :)

  3. I really need to make a list of "To Do's". After moving most of my sewing stuff upstairs to my sewing loft I realized just how much stuff has gone by the wayside. Some of it due to being stashed away while I worked on a project with a timeline. (Then promptly forgotten about!) Now I am in a position where I can set goals and lists and work away at them!

  4. Good luck with your PHD program this year. Fingers crossed this year is as good as last year was.

  5. Looks like a nice list of projects. I've had a bookshelf and a postage stamp quilt on my list of quilts to make for a long time, but I haven't started either of those. I wish you the best with your goals.

  7. Good luck with your PHD. You can do it! I participated last year and it was a great way to finish a pile of problem projects.
